German building materials group Xella’s sales fell 9.4% year on year during the first quarter to €289 million from €319 million in first-quarter 2022 as a result of cooling demand for residential construction, high customer inventories and adverse weather, which impacted construction activity. Adjusted EBITDA fell 19.3% year on year to €49.7 million from €61.6 million over the same period, sources said.
