Prior to joining the company in October 2021, he was a business reporter for Aging Media Network's Senior Housing News vertical, and was the Chicago market reporter for commercial real estate events and news organization Bisnow. He is a United States Navy veteran, and a graduate of its Nuclear Power School program.

He has an LL.M. in bankruptcy from St. John's University, a J.D. from the University of South Carolina and a B.A. in communication from the College of Charleston.

Seth has researched and reported on municipal credit for ten of the roughly 20 years that he's been writing about fixed income. Other experiences include tours through distressed corporate credit, leveraged, securitized and private finance. But its muniland that he finds most interesting. "If you've seen one muni bond, you've seen one muni bond," goes the old saying. He graduated from SUNY Albany a long time ago.
