Reorg Webinar: Cost of Chapter 11s: Analyzing Advisor Fee Strategies

Throughout the year, Reorg hosts webinars bringing together industry professionals to discuss themes in the performing, distressed, restructuring and post-reorg credit markets.

Chapter 11 filings year to date have already exceeded filings in the same period in 2020, including six chapter 11s with more than $1 billion in liabilities. As the list of strategies to effectuate restructurings grow and debtors teeter between freefall and prearranged or prepackaged bankruptcies, Reorg has analyzed the effect that different cases have had on fees that debtors pay to advisors, both legal and financial.

In this webinar, the Reorg Team analyzed advisor opportunities and fee data from the past year, broke down the largest dealmakers of the last twelve months, and shared how advisors, investors, and other industry leaders can leverage the same information on Credit Cloud to meet their unique business needs.

Reorg discussed how different cases affect advisor fees and strategies that certain advisors have employed to alter fees. In addition, Reorg compared fees to debtors’ prepetition capital structures to understand effects on investor recoveries.
