Fri Mar 17, 2023 5:51 pm

Throughout the year, Reorg hosts webinars bringing together industry professionals to discuss themes in the performing, distressed, restructuring and post-reorg credit markets.

Watch the replay here.

Reorg hosted a webinar on Thursday, March 23, where we discussed the fallout from the failure of Silicon Valley Bank, and the subsequent bankruptcy filing by its holding company Silicon Valley Bank Financial Corp.

We discussed regulatory responses, legal processes that would affect creditor recoveries and the variety of risks and opportunities for investors stemming from the emerging pressures in the financial system caused by recent market events. In particular, we discussed the playbook for bank holding company bankruptcies and SVB Financial Group’s first-day hearing, looming FDIC claims and the debtor’s potential exit paths.

Mike Legge, distressed debt legal analyst moderated the webinar and the presenters include:

  • Martin Bienenstock, chair of Proskauer Rose’s Business Solutions, Governance, Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group;
  • Vincent Indelicato, a partner with Proskauer Rose; and
  • Honorable James M Peck (ret.), former Southern District of New York bankruptcy judge and global co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Business Restructuring and Insolvency Group and current head of the firm’s mediation practice.
