Avaya made about $12.5 million of coupon payments due yesterday, Thursday, Dec. 15, on two tranches of its bonds, even though it is expected to file chapter 11 in the near term - potentially this month or in January - after efforts to execute an out-of-court restructuring failed to bear fruit, according to sources.
